
Casey was born and raised in Michigan. After briefly studying sculpture and music at Michigan State University, she transferred to the College for Creative Studies to pursue a degree in animation with a business concentration. While in school, Casey completed several animation internships, studied abroad in Ireland, and founded the first student chapter of Women in Animation. Her short films have screened in festivals and galleries in the US and internationally.
Casey currently resides in Los Angeles, where she works in the animation industry, specializing in producing stop motion animation. She is now focusing on building out her creative practice, Catalyst Castle Studios, and looks forward to striking out on her own and partnering up with some new and exciting clients. Casey also teaches at the College for Creative Studies and the Laguna College of Art and Design, is the co-founder of Animation Wild Card, and the co-host of the Hello Stop Mo podcast.
When not making art, Casey enjoys hiking, journaling, volunteering, boating, and vegan cooking. Casey's motto: Use your powers for good.

This virtual workshop offers an introduction and overview of animation production management. Drawing from her experience managing stop-motion productions like SpongeBob and The Cuphead Show, your instructor, Casey Follen, will guide you through the daily responsibilities associated with various production management roles. She will cover key concepts related to team oversight, budget management, and production scheduling. Additionally, the workshop will introduce simple and accessible tools while discussing how the principles of managing a professional animated production can be applied to independent creative projects. Must be 18+ to sign up.
